Southwest Composite Works is looking for an experienced Business Development Director. We are an Albuquerque-based company that believes in the future of American manufacturing, exhibiting the highest standards in pride of workmanship since 2016 (Our sister company, Southwest Pattern Works, was founded in 1994) If you are a sales professional who has a track record of achieving sizable revenue targets in a fast-paced and highly technical environment, we may wish to have you join our team. As a BDD, you will be responsible for contacting business prospects who have responded to our marketing awareness campaigns, or from our event marketing efforts, and/or from targeted lists. You will introduce our innovative product, provide relevant details with enthusiasm and ethical consideration, answer any questions, and help prospects move through the buyer’s journey. The ideal Business Development Director candidate will also espouse a philosophy of stewardship of the earth and environmental consciousness. They will have a penchant for adapting to the sales process as it happens and a true passion for RESULTS; gaining ultimate satisfaction from converting leads into closed business. We expect stellar communication skills and appropriate selling questions that lead potential prospects to act upon their interest in our innovative and high-quality composite solutions to their product needs. We look for candidates who are driven and have a proven record of overcoming obstacles, professionally and/or personally.



  • Utilize prospecting strategies to lead initial outreach to prospects, including some former and existing leads and clients.

  • Initiate exploratory calls with prospects to see if they'd be an ideal customer.

  • Identify the needs and challenges of the prospective customer

  • Determine the prospect's interest in carbon fiber products

  • Know the product and service offerings inside and out to communicate purpose and value to prospective customers.

  • Schedule discovery meetings for sales prospects

  • Be the “face” of Southwest Composite Works

  • Maintain detailed account profiles in corporate CRM application including activities, reports, as well as updating management on account status, business opportunities and trend.

  • Find opportunities, communicate technical applications, and identify potential product modifications to fit potential customer’s needs

  • Meet quarterly and yearly revenue and strategic goals



  • 3+ years of Business to Business sales experience

  • Excellent relationship building and proven record of sales acumen

  • Ability to extract technical information and product needs from prospects

  • Self-motivated and organized

  • High level of daily outbound calling activity

  • Ability to quickly understand and demonstrate our technology and value proposition
