Composite Sales / Business Development Manager

We are entering a growth phase and are looking for a Sales & Business Development professional who is motivated, curious, and ready to grow with us. This role is ideal for someone with experience in technical or manufacturing sales, especially composites, who enjoys consultative selling and building long-term customer relationships.

You will play a key role in driving revenue growth and expanding SWC’s customer base. This position blends relationship-building, technical understanding, and problem-solving. You’ll work closely with engineering and production teams to help customers solve complex challenges using advanced composite solutions.
This role offers meaningful impact, strong earning potential, and room to grow as the company scales.
Compensation
Base Salary: $65,000–$95,000 (DOE)
Uncapped Commission: 20–30% of base at quota
OTE: $110,000–$140,000+ with strong upside
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Generate new business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and inbound opportunities
- Develop and execute sales strategies across key industry verticals
- Identify where SWC’s manufacturing capabilities solve real customer challenges
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through negotiation and close
- Achieve or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets
Customer & Technical Collaboration
- Partner closely with engineering and production teams to scope customer needs
- Learn and clearly communicate SWC’s manufacturing processes and capabilities
- Participate in customer meetings, facility tours, and project reviews
- Translate customer goals into clear, actionable requirements
Account Management & Growth
- Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships
- Identify opportunities to expand and grow existing accounts
- Support customer satisfaction, retention, and repeat business
- Shop visits regularly, staying connected to the team and projects
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–7+ years of experience in B2B sales, technical sales, or business development
- Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Experience in manufacturing, composites, or advanced materials is a strong plus
Technical Knowledge or Desire to Learn
- Familiarity with composite materials (carbon fiber, fiberglass, resins) or strong interest in learning
- Exposure to manufacturing processes such as compression molding, hand layup, or CNC machining
- Ability to understand and discuss engineering drawings and specifications (or willingness to learn)
Core Competencies
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Technical aptitude and curiosity
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable owning your work
- Proficiency with CRM tools (Monday, Salesforce, or similar)
Composite or advanced manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
